I use antibacitrine lotion on my occasion facial herpes outbursts, and it does cause the herpes to disappear within days until the next time they reappear months later. And the cycle continues. Report Abuse

Herpes is a virus and anti bacterial creams or drugs nor antibiotics will work on a virus. Your doctor can prescribe some meds to help you with your outbreak as well as future outbreaks. Of course, at this time there is no cure, but it is very important to keep your health up with good nutrition and that includes diet as well as supplements. There are some good books written on this subject now so check out Amazon.com or your favorite bookstore for titles.
