I have heavy whipping cream, but the recipe calls for 1 can of sweetened condensed milk - can I use the cream?

And if I can use the cream - do I need to add anything else to it? What is the measurement conversion? Any help would be greatly appreciated!I have heavy whipping cream, but the recipe calls for 1 can of sweetened condensed milk - can I use the cream?
plain old heavy cream will not work, but there is a recipe below using it. also, if you have powdered milk, or evaporated milk, here's a few substitution tricks....

2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

6 egg yolks

1 cup Splenda 路

2 Tbsp DiabetiSweet (optional)

Whisk all ingredients (added in the order given) in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Cool completely, add to sealable non-metal container and refrigerate. Use within 7-10 days. This mixture is useful in any recipe where you鈥檇 ordinarily use sweetened condensed milk (like Eagle Brand.) Using the Diabetisweet adds less than 1 carb per serving but aids in proper consistency, however, it will still be delicious without it. Depending on your plans to use it, adding a bit of vanilla after cooking can be a nice touch. Makes approx 1 1/2 pints. 40 carbs in entire recipe; 4 grams per 1/4 cup serving.

Mix 1 cup of instant powdered milk with 1/3 cup hot water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon melted butter in a blender until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.

In a saucepan, combine a cup of evaporated milk with 1-1/4 cups of sugar. Heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let cool. You can refrigerate the mixture for several days.I have heavy whipping cream, but the recipe calls for 1 can of sweetened condensed milk - can I use the cream?

No ... they aren't at all alike .....Sweetened, condensed milk is extremely sweet and thick (it needs to be scraped out of the can; too thick to just pour out). It's something that you should just keep in your pantry as a baking staple.....
They are not the same at all.

You could try but you would need to add sugar to the whipping cream.

What is the recipe for? That will also make a difference.
You can't used the whipping cream to exchange for condensed milk cause its different taste and flavor you might ruin what your trying to make or cook
Unfortunately no. Heavy whipping cream is different from sweetened condensed milk in terms of flavor and consistency.
You can't use the cream because it's not sweet or thick enough. Sweetened condensed milk is thick like honey.
No Totally different
