With a hand mixer on high until it seems creamy, lighter in color and less dense. How do you cream butter and sugar together to make them light and fluffy?
Creaming is best done with a hand mixer or standing mixer. It's basically just beating the sugar and softened butter together until the sugar is incorporated into the butter well. The butter will actually change color (becomes lighter in color) as it's being creamed, just beat together until the sugar isn't visible any longer. You can do this by hand (with a nice big wood spoon), but it will take a bit of time (say 5-10 minutes) and expend a good bit of energy. If you have a hand held mixer use this to make the job quick and easy (takes anywhere from 3-5 minutes on high speed).
Use the paddle attachment on your stand mixer or the beaters with your hand-held electric mixer.

Use what I call room temperature butter, which is at 65 - 67 degrees F, and cut into 1-inch pieces, and place in mixer bowl, the deeper the better. If the butter becomes too soft, simply refrigerate it until it becomes harder.

Begin at low speed to first soften the butter. Then increase the mixer to medium, for approximately 45 to 60 seconds, until it is smooth. If the butter is cold, the process takes a bit longer.
You can do it by hand with a wooden spoon. Put the butter and sugar in the microwave and ';just'; soften the butter - don't actually melt it. Then beat it with the wooden spoon until the sugar mixes into the butter and the butter changes to a pale yellowy cream shade and it has the consistency of ice cream.
Allow the butter to soften then add the sugar, while mixing on low speed with an electric mixer, don't pour all the sugar in at one time do it gradually. Use a batter spatula to be certain all the ingredients are mixed through. Add vanilla and eggs incorporating them same as above. Baking is my favorite thing to do, this is very easy. You will be fine. Good luck
The butter will lighten in color. And you can insert a clean finger into the butter mixture to feel the granules. If the butter feels particularly grainy then beat some more. Be sure the mixer is off when you check the butter mixture. You don't want the beater beating your finger.

It will look lighter in color when fluffy so don't worry!

its not that hard and this is a simple solution! just take a mixer and blend the sugar and butter together until it is very well mixed. if you don't have a mixer use a fork. just keep on mixing you'll get there!
Omg! naomi we were such dick heads to not know how to make it
